Poggio dei Medici Golf Club is located in the heart of Mugello, only 18 kms away from VITA NOVA (15 minutes by car).
With its 18 holes, par 72, this golf course was conceived in 1992 thanks to the collaboration between the great golfer, Baldovino Dassù and an architect, Alvise Rossi Fioravanti. The golf course, which is 6.397 metres long, 5.091 from the female Tees, and 6.519 metres from the competition Tees (another 9 holes will be built in the near future), has many practice areas with its Driving Range, Putting and Pitching Greens. It was inaugurated in 1995 and was immediately mentioned in the magazine "Il Mondo del Golf" as the best new course, giving Italian golf an excellent reputation over the years until now being considered, one of the best in Italy.
It was recently awarded the "Condè Nast Traveller" among its "Hot Lists" as "Best Golf Club", winning over clubs like the K Club in Ireland and the Greebrier club in the United States. From 1999 to 2003 Poggio dei Medici hosted the Italian Female Open of the European tour.
